Gravity Defying Photography by Cerise Doucède

By using strings to suspend objects in midair, French photographer Cerise Doucède is able to create dream like images frozen in time. Finding inspiration in normal day to day tasks, the mundane nature of the scene is juxtaposed with the encapsulating fantasy world swirling around the subjects. Cerise also deliberately leaves the strings in shot and visible to the viewer, she does this to maintain a connection between reality and the surreal moments captured.

Last night I attended a screening of the Odd Life of Timothy Green.

In the first few minutes I was concerned that perhaps I’d walked into a cheese-filled 125 minutes of film. You know…the cute parents, cute kids, mediocre plot points. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only was CJ Adams who played Timothy Green adorable (as one would expect with Disney) but he delivered an incredible performance…and rightly so shined the brightest in this film.

The story was an original…when it seemed the progression was approaching a cliché moment the audience was always pulled into a wholly surprising and refreshing direction.

Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton kept kids and adults wholly engage with their splendid performance. The relationship that unfolds between Timothy Green and Joni Jerome played by Odeya Rush warmed the heart with a few twists that make you love both characters all the more.

Geoff Zanelli composed a score of beauty that fits wonderfully with the action and sentiment on the screen.

Plenty of sub plots are planted to keep things interesting and all threads unify together in a whirlwind of purpose for a beautiful conclusion to this story. Hats off to Peter Hedges for directing and writing the screenplay. The Odd Life Of Timothy Green is a must see.

Many know that I manufactured a few thousand socks last year and printed a few hundred (you can see them at www.socklab.com). I put my Etsy shop in vacation mode while in Asia. Well I’m back and it’s go time.

Additionally, I am considering re-pricing my products to move more inventory. Looking at other online store pricing I found these map-stockings and thought they were so cool, I couldn’t help but post them here. As for the pricing…I’m reducing the normal price to $10.00. Trial and error has the day I do believe!
